Barry James is an actor/composer/web designer living in New York City with a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. He has been seen in the Broadway National Tour of Saturday Night Fever (Monty) and the Japanese concert tour of A Little Mermaid (The Chef) with the Tokyo Philharmonic. Regionally, he has been seen at the Barksdale Theatre in The Full Monty (Ethan) and They're Playing Our Song, at the Prince Music Theater in Gemini (Francis Geminiani), at Grandstreet Theatre in Beauty and the Beast (the Beast) and Big: The Musical (Josh Baskin), with Musicals Tonight! in Face the Music and with Hot Summer Nights in A Chorus Line (Al) and All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. Other credits include Dracula: The Game of Love, Candide, Saturday Night, Grand Hotel, My One
and Only, Man of La Mancha and The Secret Garden. He has also made many appearances with the Cincinnati Pops and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
As a web designer, he has designed many sites for artists of all sorts, including Brandon Cutrell (2-time MAC Award winning cabaret and theatre artist in New York City), Julie Reyburn (MAC Award winning cabaret and theatre artist), the Play Group Theatre (youth theatre for children and young adults in White Plains, NY), Sara Barron (soon to be published by Random House for her comic essays) and Cameron Anderson (set designer for Off-Broadway, regional and opera).
